Michroma is producing additional ingredients such as flavors and fragrances in a sustainable and cost-efficient way to replace petroleum-based ingredients, which are harmful to humans and the planet’s health.
The Sprint
Guardz, a cybersecurity company building a safer digital world for small businesses, raised $10M from Hanaco Ventures from iAngels, GKFF Ventures, and Cyverse Capital.
Hypernative, a startup that focuses on crypto security for asset managers, hedge funds, traders, and market makers, raised $9M from Boldstart Ventures, IBI Tech Fund, Blockdaemon, Alchemy, Borderless, CMT Digital, and Nexo.
Teal Health, a women’s health platform that provides women with the tools and resources they need to make empowered decisions regarding their health, starting with cervical cancer screenings, raised $8.8M from Serena Ventures, Metrodora, and Emerson Collective.
C-mo Medical Solutions, a digital health startup that develops solutions for the diagnosis and management of cough-incident medical conditions, raised €4.8M from Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund, Portugal Ventures and High-Tech Gründerfonds.
TBD Health, a sexual healthcare provider that offers at-home and in-clinic screenings, emergency contraception, education and counseling, raised $4.4M from Tusk Venture Partners, with participation from Springdale Ventures, Human Ventures, Expansion VC, Starbloom Capital, Hyphen Capital, and The Community Fund.
Meadow, a student financial services platform for universities that combines billing, payments, and financial engagement into a streamlined and consumer-friendly experience for students, raised $3.5M from Susa Ventures, Giant Ventures, AlleyCorp, Daniel Gulati’s Treble Capital, Koda Wang, Tom Blomfield, Richie Serna and Abhi Ranadive.
Ever Dye, a deep-tech startup developing a chemical process allowing dyeing mills to dye textiles faster, raised €3.4M from Maki.vc, Asterion Ventures, and Entrepreneur First.
Weedar, a distribution ecosystem that combines engaging AR-powered shopping experiences and gamified loyalty programs for cannabis brands, raised $1.5M from an anonymous private investor.
Fluffy, a pet care app that offers dog training from experts, 24/7 chats with vets and comprehensive insurance coverage for a wide range of medical expenses, raised $450K from QVentures and Techstars.
Fund Talk
Raven Indigenous Capital Partners, a venture capital fund focused on backing early and growth-stage Indigenous enterprises, raised $100M from McConnell Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, Bush Foundation, Bank of America, VanCity Credit Union, Telus Pollinator Fund, InBC Investment, BDC and Economic Development Canada.
Raven's fund will invest in areas such as information technology, software as a service, climate, clean energy, food sovereignty, regenerative agriculture, health and next generation consumer products.
